In line with the philosophy of Dan Carey’s ‘Speedy Single’, the track was recorded in just one day with restricted takes. Our idea was to carry this methodology into the video. Instead of overplanning and shooting, we committed to capturing a band performance in a single take, surrounded by live fireworks. With no second chances, it forced an exciting sense of urgency and intensity into the performance and camera work. Fast-paced editing played a key role in the final outcome.

The stop motion was made over seven consecutive nights, working from sunset to sunrise. It carries a strange mix of wonder, grit and doom that sits naturally with MORN.

BOW & RISE

Bow and Rise follows a group of international students finding a sense of belonging in a different country through their Chinese Lion Dance society. Nicole, the troupe president, reflects on how being herself at home was difficult, whereas moving to Bristol gave her the chance to express herself. The film builds up to their Chinese New Years performance, where Nicole stands out with her newly dyed red hair.

I spent six months getting to know the troupe, observing and filming their day-to-day lives. As the process went on, I became particularly drawn to putting into perspective the contrast of their world within Bristol. I did this by shooting on a wide lens and following them around recognisable Bristol landmarks and typical local places such as cafes and shops. The artistic cultural aspect is dramatically captured in the intensity of the opening music scene, before cutting to the group standing in Bristol as the story begins.

SUB SUN X GEESE

A mixed photo and video campaign for sunglasses brand Sub Sun featuring rock band Geese, shot across Central London.

The video component follows a walk and talk interview, speaking to the band as they move through Soho and around Buckingham Palace. Conversations cover their process making music and their recent sucess. Capturing natural interactions with a camcorder. I also provided photography for the campaign.

CANARY GIRLS

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Canary Girls follows a women’s football team during the world war, exploring their short lived freedom and experiences in factory work and playing the last few games of football before the men came home. With the cinematography I wanted the ‘winning on the pitch’ to mirror the larger ideas of survival, freedom, and camaraderie.

I captured slow and extreme close details on their physicality, aggression during the cup final. Turning their tackles, pulls, and kicks into something charged. The film explores their freedom formed in the absence of men, alongside the more complex, bittersweet feelings around their potential return.

THE NORTH FACE - ‘NEVER FEAR THE FORCAST’

Following DJ Haseeb Iqbal going about his day-to-day life in North West London, buying jazz records and moving through the city regardless of weather or mindset. His The North Face jacket becomes the constant element that gives him the confidence to step out, stay active, and complete his “mission” for the day, from Peckings Record Shop to cycling through the streets and up to Primrose Hill.

CURSER - THE LEECH

Curser’s song The Leech follows the metaphor of a person who leeches from others, so we portrayed the frontman in the natural environment of an actual leech, living in a pond, walking through public spaces still dripping with water, and eventually being rejected by his own band at an intense band performance. In addition to creative direction and camera work, the project involved creative concept, script and location research.

STRAY DOG
Short film, 2026

WRITER/DIRECTOR
Set in 1932 Salisbury, Stray Dog follows Nancy and her childhood friend Oz as they run a travelling picture show out of the back of a car, both in search of independence. Lost in a hedonistic gaze of saxophone solos and cheap gin, their momentum eventually runs out of road, resulting in an enlightening crash.

The Standard Model builds on Modern Man, pieced together again with a mix of gritty black and white stop-motion that gives it a DIY, punk feel. Put together in a way that embraces imperfection, it feels like it was assembled under pressure, experimenting with stunts, such as a van crash, rather than trying to smooth everything out, which keeps the whole experience tense and unpredictable.

A live performance video set in Nunhead Cemetery featuring Saul Adamczewski, with natural bird calls left in the audio and shot using a Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens to capture extreme close-ups of his singing mouth, revealing his missing front tooth and even fogging the image with his breath.

PUB SINGER - CORNERSHOP

The video follows Pub Singer performing in the back of a van late at night, delivering the performance straight to camera in the style of an old Brooklyn hip hop video, cut with footage of him and his mates performing inside a small cornershop in London. It’s all tied together with a cold blue tone that matches the mood of the track.

THE STUNTMAN

WRITER/DIRECTOR
The Stuntman is a short drama about a charming small-town silent cinema owner in the late 1920s, who refuses to embrace the arrival of sound in film. In a time when local cinemas were responsible for their own promotions, Ed became famous for his creative promotional stunts. In the film he puts his heart and soul into ‘one last’ big local stunt to save his silent cinema.
